I was always jealous that San Francisco had some great, trendy, and sophisticated baby stores. Now I can say my neighborhood has one! Milk is a new store that opened a couple months ago and is already getting some raves. I love the simplicity and sweetness of the store and all of their products are so precious! I absolutely love these little shoes by Livie & Luca. I was first introduced to these shoes by the owner of Lavish. They are so fun, cute, and original! And if you purchase a pair this month, partial proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Society!

something to remember japan by....

While I was in Japan, Trevor (shown left) with bc basics, one of my clients, was so generous to show Robert and I around Okayama Japan. Okayama is about an hour ride on the bullet train just west of Kyoto. He took us to some great baby boutiques including "TAG" owned by Eguchi-san and his wife (shown right). Yoshida-san (shown in the middle) is an employee of the store. TAG carries a few items of mine!! I was so pleased to hear that Trevor collaborates with TAG and they decided to carry some of my onesies in the store. My visit was so welcoming and exciting and I was so happy to meet everyone at TAG!

what is better than cake?! miette cakes in san francisco has opened a super sweet confiserie in hayes valley. this parisian style candy store will make any kid and even adult giddy! as i turned the corner of hayes street and octavia i couldn't wait to see the store for the first time! the bright yellow striped awning framed a large window with darling little packaged gum drops staring at me through the window. i felt like a little girl again waiting to spend all my saved coins on my favourite treats! as i walked into the store the bright colors of candies in glass jars widened my eyes. i met caitlin alissa williams, partner of miette cakes, as she helped me scoop out my favorite flavored gum drops out of the jars. it was so refreshing to have met someone so sweet and charming. be sure to stop by this amazing confiserie as you may enjoy it as much as i did!

Crazy Week

Hi All! Wow this past week was crazy! Thanks to all of you who came out to see me! I really appreciate it! I am glad to see Christmas is coming around the corner! In January there will be tons of new changes to my site and my company! I am working on a new logo, new designs, new products, and a few more surprises! I can't wait! I will be going on vacation to Los Angeles on the 21st and will not return to the bay area until the new year, January 2nd. Tis' the season to Shop!!

Hello. Sorry it has been a while since my last posting, the holidays have been hectic. With orders, new ideas, and holiday shows there is so much to keep me busy! Our close friends Daniel and Esther, and their daughters, Alyssa and Cynthia, had a beautiful baby boy, born on Saturday, May 6, 2006! He is adorable and healthy, and was born into a great, loving family! I'm so happy for them!!! Yippee!

New Designs Soon!!

Most of you are probably wondering where all of my new designs are. They are coming next month! I am previewing them at the vestiti roupa show in May and then releasing them onine. I wanted to test them out first to see how they do, here is a preview of one of the new designs! I am excited to see how people respond to them!

It's always a lot of fun to see my designs on happy babies! Here is beautiful Lotus enjoying her bee!! Thanks Esther and Nate for the picture! I was thinking about having a little gallery on my website for those of you who I haven't met and have babies! So send your pictures in!!

I am deciding whether or not to keep my jakc designs logo on my baby shirts tagless or change it to include a tag. I was having some fun with tag ideas. Sometimes having a tag may not be a good thing for a baby shirt, any mother's or non mother's out there that have suggestions?

Isn't it funny how dogs resemble their owners? Maybe I should make tees with the owner's pets that look like them....I wonder if my dog crackers looks like me.......

I don't think that I can take any more rain. I am starting to think that the sun doesn't exist anymore....I guess one of the perks of working from home is I travel about 20.65 feet to my studio with my trusty little radiator by my side. Since being at home more and trying to stay away from the rain I found a few cool websites that I want to share with you. And one big one that is supporting what I do!

Even though Spring is here it sure doesn't look like it outside in the bay area. I can't wait 'til the warm sun comes out and the flowers start to blossom. I am excited about making some spring styles, warm colors and lots of nature! The wet weather has kept me indoors to work on some new designs, focused mostly towards the boys! People have been asking for more 'boy' designs! Stay tuned...

I have always loved greeting cards. I would look forward to stopping by a card shop to see darling fresh designs and funny phrases that can brighten up my day. Since I was a little girl I would pull out all of my tupperware boxes filled with glitter, puffy paints, and various decorative papers to spend four hours on a card that I was so proud of. I have always tried to find a way to show the world how much I love cards and now I finally can! Here is a preview to what I am planning on bringing to the store very soon.

I am looking into doing a trunk show in May with vestiti roupa. It looks like a lot of fun and it could help me with my marketing skills! I will post the details once I hear back from them. Hope to see you then!

Here is a step by step procedure that I take to make most of my onesies. A little taste to what Jakc Designs is all about!

I have had some large orders and this is just a peek to what my process is. Since it is just me I usually cut all of the characters out using templates and then sew. Here is a line up of my popular designs.

I am in a magazine! This is my first time being issued in a nationwide subscription based magazine. It is so exciting. Everything is coming together finally! Hope you like it!!

I am working on a few more new designs for my onesies, they just need some refinements. I have also been looking into making baby clothing like sun dresses and such. I found this cute french clothing website that gave me inspiration! trés mignon!

yay! So exciting to be a part of Lavish in San Francisco. I took a sneek peek this weekend to see how it looks. I have been getting great feedback and thanks everyone for your support! It is so amazing to see people enjoying my designs! If you haven't already, check out Lavish!

I love dogs and I love cards! This cute site has great designs on cards. Lisa Wong Jackson also has another line called, "Good On Paper". Her designs are savvy, elegant, and creative. Take a look at her sites! pixel and floyd and good on paper

I have been doing some research on screenprinting and came across this little printer called the "Gocco". It is a japanese based invention and has been around for the past two decades. Apparently the company who makes this screen printer decided to discountinue its distribution. Help save this little printer by logging into this site save gocco! and help find it a home!

A lot has happened this month! I have been looking into stores to carry my products and I will be at Lavish, San Francisco by the end of the month! I can't wait. I love this store, they have the cutest baby gear you can find in the bay area, and their storefront is such a great compliment to their products! Visit their site at shop lavish . Happy New Year! This year will be very exciting, I have plenty of new goals for my business. I am looking to see if local boutique stores will hold my merchandise so you can actually see and touch my products. I have been working on custom orders since the holidays and they have been fun and challenging. The blankets above were made for expecting mothers. I also have been getting requests for my books to be made with the photo sleeve inserts rather than the paper binding, so I will have the option of that online as well. I will be posting more onesie designs soon! Thanks!!

Hello...for those of you that made it to the ReadyMade party, thanks so much for coming. It was my first craft fair and I had a great time! Especially selling. I am so happy that everyone enjoyed my work, it is finally paying off! I still have so much more to do this month, two more craft fairs and christmas presents for everyone. Yikes! I think I am getting in over my head. If those of you are wondering where my new arrivals stuff is, it is due out soon. I am working on it as we speak. cheers!

Work, work, work!

Worked all weekend, trying to get the site done and meet the self imposed launch deadline of November 21st! It meant eating dinner at 2 am this weekend, sewing on a tiny table, taking pcitures in the dark, and photoshop madness! What else could go wrong! It's taking shape though, and I can't wait to show it!

A New Site in the Future

Happy Halloween!
After consuming a pound of candy and feeling a little hyper I have been working diligently on my new site along with new products.
